Anton
MadMan Trim is operated by Anton Pace.
After 10 years in the music business and 20 years in design and advertising, Anton decided he needed a break from the daily commute to London from Colchester, Essex. He'd been playing around with car interiors for fun and friends for a little while, so, with a bit of encouragement from others, he decided to try his hand at it commercially, whilst also consulting to a couple of companies in London on marketing stuff to pay the bills!
He took some one-to-one classes with a master trimmer, who ran the car restoration course at Colchester Institute in years gone by. He taught Anton some brilliant principles, to which he tries to stick every day; his favourite nugget from him was to "make sure that the bits you don't see when the piece is finished, look neat and perfect - if they do, the bits you CAN see will be too".
Although it was his love of classic 50s American cars that first drew him into the trimming world, Anton has expanded his love of classics to include British and other European marques.
When he's not trimming cars, Anton is often to be found indulging his other passion, singing and playing guitar, most notably in long-standing acoustic duo The Judith Charmers and in his tribute to David Bowie show, The Prettiest Starman.
